FAQ

Questions & Answers

1. Where are Sobrement products manufactured?

Our clothing is lovingly crafted in a small, family-run factory in Portugal. All designs are created there using 100% organic cotton sourced exclusively from Europe. Production is GOTS-certified, guaranteeing fair working conditions, sustainable materials, and the highest quality standards.

2. What makes Sobrement's T-shirts special?

Every Sobrement piece combines minimalist design, timeless cuts, and the lifestyle of the French Riviera. Instead of fleeting trends, we focus on lasting quality, subtle details, and natural materials. Our fashion doesn't just feel good—it tells a story of awareness, family, and style.

3. Is Sobrement sustainable fashion?

Yes, absolutely. Our entire collection is made from certified organic cotton, fairly produced in Portugal. We consciously avoid chemicals, plastic, and mass production. This is how we create sustainable fashion that respects people, the environment, and style equally.

4. Why does Sobrement position itself against fast fashion?

Fast fashion is one of the biggest environmental problems of our time. Conventional textile production uses millions of tons of chemicals every year – from dyes to plasticizers. Many of these end up in soils and oceans via wastewater.

Furthermore, synthetic fibers such as polyester release tiny microplastic particles with every wash, which later end up in our environment and even in the food chain.

Sobrement consciously takes a different approach: We produce exclusively from 100% organic cotton, free from microplastics and toxic chemicals. Our clothing is durable, skin-friendly, and resource-efficient – a statement for conscious consumption instead of fast fashion.

5. What sizes do you offer?

Our T-shirts have a classic cut and are available in a wide range of sizes for children, teenagers, women, and men. If you're between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for a relaxed, casual look.

6. How do I properly care for my Sobrement shirts?

To ensure you enjoy your clothing for a long time, we recommend: washing at 30°C, do not tumble dry. Our prints are iron-safe and can be ironed at a normal temperature without any problems.

Organic cotton is alive – small irregularities in the fabric are a sign of natural quality.

7. Where does the name “Sobrement” come from?

"Sobrement" means "simple" or "discreet" and "understated" in French – and that perfectly describes our philosophy: clean lines, natural materials, honest fashion. Inspired by the Provençal lifestyle, Sobrement stands for conscious consumption and the beauty in simplicity.

8. How does the shipping process work?

We ship all orders plastic-free and climate-neutrally from Germany with DHL Go Green. Your package usually arrives within 2–4 business days. Shipping is free for orders over €80 (see shipping information in the shop).

9. Can I return or exchange items?

Of course. You can easily return or exchange your order within 14 days. We want you to be completely satisfied – and we're happy to help you personally with any questions about sizes or products if you're unsure despite the size chart and other information you can find directly on the product page. You can conveniently request a return via your customer account (all you need is your email address), and we'll send you the return label. The return shipping costs (€6.90 from Germany) will then be automatically deducted from your refund.

10. Why is it worth buying from Sobrement?

Because with every purchase you make a statement – against fast fashion and for conscious consumption. You support fair production, family businesses, and sustainable materials. Sobrement stands for quality, honesty, and the feeling of an endless summer day in the South of France. For the whole family. 🌞

11. What is the cut of the Sobrement T-shirts and what material is used?

Our T-shirts are intentionally classic and have a slightly generous cut, making them suitable for both everyday wear and relaxed leisure time. All styles are made from 100% organic cotton sourced from Europe and processed in Portugal in a family-run, GOTS-certified factory. This ensures you not only feel good about wearing them, but also have the peace of mind that comes with knowing they are of high quality and ethically sourced.

12. Can the T-shirt shrink or fade after the first wash?

Thanks to the high-quality organic cotton, careful and slow processing, and pre-washed fabric, this shirt retains its shape for a long time without shrinking or losing its shape. Our fabric was chosen to ensure you can enjoy it for years to come. Important: Wash at 30°C and do not tumble dry. This will prevent shrinkage and ensure your shirt stays as stylish as the day you bought it. Our production methods are designed for longevity – the complete opposite of short-lived fast fashion.

13. What colors and variations are available – and how sustainable are these color and printing options?

We use white as our base color. Natural tones, navy, sand, and white are featured in our prints and embroideries – inspired by the Provençal lifestyle. For prints and embroideries, we choose environmentally friendly dyes and processes that require fewer chemicals and align with our sustainable philosophy. This allows the design to remain minimalist, high-quality, and durable – without compromising quality at the expense of the environment.

14. Is the T-shirt also suitable for children or teenagers – and what is the fit like for family sizes?

Yes – that was precisely one of our approaches: family at the heart of everything we do. Our collection includes sizes for children, teenagers, women, and men, so you can all look stylish together. The cut is designed to ensure teenagers feel comfortable – not too loose, not too tight. When teenagers are switching sizes, we recommend choosing one size larger.

15. Is the price-performance ratio justified – why does sustainable fashion often cost more?

True quality and fair production conditions come at a price – but with Sobrement you get real added value in return:

• 100% organic cotton, no blended fibers

• Designed in Hamburg, produced in Portugal in a family-run factory • Subtly minimalist, timeless style, not a short-lived trend

• Environmentally and family-conscious approach that actively avoids microplastic and chemical pollution

- At Sobrement, we deliberately avoid the sales channels of the large online platforms and chains in order to grow organically and slowly as a label and to be able to keep our product promise.

This approach makes sustainable clothing not only ethically sound, but also economically viable in the long term — your shirt will last for years instead of just one season.

16. What do sustainability and social responsibility mean to us?

It's in our DNA to do more than others. Social responsibility and commitment are core pillars of Sobrement's philosophy. Our responsibility towards the environment doesn't end with organic cotton and fair trade practices; we also support environmental protection projects worldwide, focusing on preventing the release of plastic and microplastics, removing and collecting plastic from rivers and oceans, educational projects, and organizations for people with disabilities.

Specifically, we have a sponsorship and also donate a portion of the proceeds from our L'Heritage shirts to Ozeankind eV – an organization that primarily works in East Africa. This organization not only provides employment for women through SwopShops, supplies children with school materials, clothing, and other items for collecting plastic bottles, but also actively offers environmental education in schools and organizes clean-ups.
